How many times has Sunday rolled around and you start to be filled with anxiety and dread? I know I have certainly experienced it, and over time I have learned what makes me feel better when approaching the week ahead.
Below you'll find some tips ✍️, but it's important to remember that everyone's situation is different. I, personally, love starting out my Sunday mornings nice and slow (when I can), so waking up super early to knock out a to-do list is not my preference.
However, I still try to get some core things done before participating in any Sunday FunDay activities to set myself up for success. Maybe for you, waking up early to get things done is the best option, or maybe it's before you turn in for the night. Playing around with different options and finding what works best for you is key.
- Get some movement in. 🚶 We know that exercise helps with our physical and mental health, so getting in some movement can help to improve your overall mindset and mood on Sundays! Personally, I love to take a long walk with my dogs.
- Set yourself up for success with your workouts for the week! 💪 For me, this looks like laying out my workout clothes for the entire week so that they are ready to grab when I need them. It takes the mental load out of picking an outfit later in the week and allows me to be ready to go at a moment's notice. If you are someone who has to pack a bag and change of work clothes, get as much of this ready to go as well.
- Meal prep. 🍽️ Whether this means actually preparing meals for the week, or just making a list of meals you intend to make throughout the week, this makes lunch and dinner time so much easier. For me, this looks like making a grocery list and putting in a target delivery order. I utilize a couple meal prep companies to supplement meals throughout the week, and for me it's 100000% worth it so I am not spending all day Sunday in the kitchen. - Schedule your workouts. 📆 I like to take a look at my week ahead, record all my obligations, and then schedule in my workouts. It is easy for workouts to get pushed to the side when other things come up, so planning ahead can really help this!
- Find some time for relaxation. Using Sunday as a day to "reset" can be crucial in helping your mind prepare for the week. Relaxation looks different for everyone but find a few minutes for yourself. Once the weather gets warmer, I love to sit out on the back patio while the sun sets.
- Maintain a balanced weekend routine. You'll feel a lot better going into a new week if you ate some healthy foods, drank your water, and got some quality sleep. Nothing needs to be perfect, but find a balance.
- Go to bed on time on Sunday night. 🛌 One of the best ways you can set yourself up for success is to get a good nights sleep.
- Do something you enjoy! ☀️ Sunday is still part of the weekend, and we owe it to ourselves to ENJOY it. 💜
